remembering the crosses…
Since 1973, the consequences of Roe vs. Wade have resulted in over 59 million babies being aborted in the United States. That number translates to approximately 1.5 million babies a year, or 4000 a day. In 2017, that number decreased to 3000 a day, due to several factors, including the support that crisis pregnancy centers have provided to women and men. Each year in Limestone County, thousands of crosses are set up to remember and honor the babies that die each day by abortion. The battle continues and is being fought daily for the sanctity of human life here and around the world. The volunteers at the Women’s Resource Center of Athens would like to thank our board members for faithfully placing the crosses up each year as a visual reminder that we as Christians must continue in prayer, fighting the spiritual battle against the enemy.
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I [Jesus] come that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
The yearly construction of the “Remembering The Crosses Memorial” aids the people of God, making them aware of the massive scale on which this travesty is occurring. It also highlights the needs for the good news of the gospel which can transform the hearts of the unsaved, awakening them to salvation and to the sanctity of all human life as seen through the eyes of our creator, God.
Psalms 139:14-17 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
Our prayer for the community is that this memorial will bring awareness, hope, and healing to those affected by abortion.

Be in daily prayer for the clients that come through the doors of crisis pregnancy center here and around the world, and for the client advocates that serve them.
Pray that God will soften hearts and turn them to Jesus Christ, to choose life over abortion.
